our story

We are a family run business based in South Shropshire. We have always had a passion for cooking food and bread making, and pizza has always been our favourite meal to make. However we had never thought of it as a possible business, until we saw a bunch of guys making pizzas for a wedding we were attending out of a small van, that got us thinking maybe we could turn our passion and interest into something more. After some careful research and a trip out to find our vintage trailer we had the foundations of our catering business.

Once we had restored our trailer and given her a new lease of life, we started the hunt for the perfect wood fired oven, we wanted something that could take centre stage, something that would draw people in. Wood fired ovens have always been the centre of communities and that’s exactly want we wanted from ours.  We researched around looking at all types and styles, from big to small, gas to wood and finally found our Bushman oven. Its large enough to cook up to 3 pizzas at once, but small enough to get to temperature within an hour and a half. Its beautifully handcrafted and we fell in love as soon as we saw our first flames roll within the dome.

Our trailer has been designed by us and professionally kitted out, it has everything on board we would need from hot running water and refrigeration to temperature gauges on the fire, its a complete kitchen on wheels. This allows us to provide a professional efficient service to any event whilst maintaining the highest of food hygiene standards.

 

OUR MISSION

We want to provide people a 5 star catering service for any events from weddings, private parties to corporate events. Whilst using the most eco friendly products, reducing our carbon footprint, and doing our best for the planet.

We have the knowledge and skill to bring one of Italy’s most iconic and loved foods to you. Naples on wheels!

We want to bring people together to enjoy food, create a space within our local community by having week nights stops, serving Neapolitan pizza to our local rural communities.

 

About Our pizzas

Here at The Pizza Trailer, we  are serious pizza lovers. We’ve spent years learning the art of pizza making to bring you the very best Neapolitan pizza.

For our handmade dough we mix the finest flour from Naples with water, yeast and a little salt. Yep that’s it… well we use a few methods such as Biga to get that light and fluffy crust, but honestly its time that does the magic! Once the dough has been allowed to proof for around 36 hours were ready to hand stretch it.

We hand stretch the perfectly fermented dough ball by pushing all the air to crust which is an awesome feeling, but most importantly it gives us that light and fluffy crust. We then top the pizza with the finest ingredients and pop it into our wood fired oven for around 90 seconds. The 475 degree heat from the oven floor causes the crust to burst into life, whilst the curling flame within the oven dome cooks the toppings to perfection.
